WHAT: An understanding of anatomy is one of the most valuable tools a dancer and teacher can have. In this informative workshop, Lissa Michalak will explore the bones, joints, and major muscle groups involved in belly dance, helping you better understand how the body moves.
You'll also learn about common dance-related injuries, safe movement practices, and practical teaching strategies for working with special populations, including seniors, pregnant students, kids, teens, and sedentary students with physical limitations or chronic conditions. Whether you're teaching classes or simply want to dance with greater awareness, this workshop will help you create safer, more effective, and more inclusive learning environments.
This class is perfect for dancers, teachers, and aspiring teachers who want to build a healthier, more sustainable dance practice.
