Dalia will be offering a sensual and passionate Flamenco Araby dance workshop to the divine and fiery music of Rob Mastrianni, who is an amazing guitarist, composer, recording artist and performer. Flamenco Araby is an electrifying dance experience pioneered by Dalia, who has taught her innovative fusion style all over the world. Dalia fuses the rich traditions of Arabic dance (Raqs Sharqi), Flamenco, and Latin Caribbean styles. Decades in the making, Dalia's style embodies deep, expressive and percussive movements of Arabic dance, adding a Flamenco flair with dramatic and passionate arm/skirt work, complemented by vibrant Latin Caribbean and skirt techniques of both Bomba and Plena dance from Puerto Rico. WHO: Dalia Carella is a renowned world fusion artist, choreographer and instructress that specializes in both Near/Middle Eastern and Contemporary Dance Theater. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Dalia Carella Carella Dance Collective. Audiences from around the world have applauded her mystical and innovative dances and choreographies that are taken from the tradition of the countries she is representing. Ms. Carella has delved deeply in the studies of dances from the Near and Middle East including Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, as well as North Africa including Morocco and Algeria. Her dances are both traditional and contemporary with a spiritual and mystical essence behind each and every dance that she creates. Some of Ms. Carella’s new works represent both traditional and contemporary movement and range from sacred rituals to ethnic contemporary theater pieces as well as Cabaret Theater inspired by the 1920s and 30s.
