WHAT: Led by Kaeshi Chai, this 8 week solo choreography intensive is a personal and group exploration of traveling to different eras in time or a different age in a dancer’s life. We will generate, shape, and hone individual stories through dance. Kaeshi shares her movement toolbox for generating choreography and structured improvisation using belly dance, Lecoq, Dell’Arte, Laban, Playback theatre and Jake Knapp’s Sprint Design process. Participants will craft choreography independently as well as collaboratively with each other. By establishing a place for fun experimentation and dialogue, participants will spend 8 weeks working in a positive and open environment that fosters creativity and artistic connection. This will culminate in a show to the public. Appropriate for dancers of all levels. Limited to 12 participants.
