Deepen your belly dance practice and understanding of teaching tools, anatomy, history, culture, music, business, technology and more with the Bellyqueen Teacher Training. This Module 1 40-hour course is ideal for serious students, current and aspiring teachers. Participants who pass the written and practical exam and practice teach a minimum of 20 hours outside of the training will be awarded a Bellyqueen Teacher Training certificate of completion, others will receive a certificate of attendance. Limited to 10 students.

The 16th Bellyqueen Teacher Training will be conducted by Kaeshi Chai, Lissa Michalak, Brad MacDonald, Morocco and Adam Good.

KAESHI CHAI co-founded the school and company, Bellyqueen and international community, PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment). She has taught and performed in 39 countries and 47 states and is an alumni member of the Bellydance Superstars and Jillina’s Bellydance Evolution. She has danced for the Queen of Morocco and taught belly dance on CNN and WB11. She hosted Tamalyn Dallal’s Teachers Training for over a decade in NYC, is a Simonson Modern Jazz certified instructor (trained by Lynn Simonson and Te Perez Ceccon) and is a 200 hr yoga certified instructor through Yogaworks and has undergone intensives through ACHPER (Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation), AFAA (Aerobic & Fitness Association of America), SEEDs (Self Esteem and Empowerment through Dance) with Myra Krien, Dancing through Pregnancy, Dances of Oneness with Banefsheh Sayyad, Sacred Circle Dance with Laura Shannon, People’s Improv Theater Level 1-4, ATS General Skills with Carolena Nericcio, Suhaila Salimpour Level 1, 9 month ASFYT anatomy course, Irene Dowd anatomy, dance and drama therapy at the New School, Level 1 Lucid Body training and intensives at the Movement Theater Studio, Village Playback Theater and Dell’Arte International. LISSA MiCHALAK has been teaching movement for more than 23 years and is a confirmed anatomy nerd. She is a Middle Eastern dancer and is certified in both mat and equipment through IM=X Pilates, Pilates Institute of America, and the Kane School of Core Integration. Lissa taught teacher trainings at the Kane School before getting certified as a Dynamic Embodiment® practitioner. ADAM GOOD has played Turkish ud for 18 years. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston with a foundation in jazz guitar, his interest in the music of Eastern Europe and Turkey began in the mid-90s. His talent on Turkish ud, guitar, tambura, and knowledge of Turkish makam has made Adam a fixture of New York’s Balkan and Middle Eastern music scenes. He plays regularly with the ensembles Dolunay (Turkish music), Greek Judas (heavy metal Greek rebetika), Pontic Firebird (Greek Ponitc), and with clarinet master Souren Baronian’s ensemble Taksim. His self-released CD, entitled Dances of Macedonia and the Balkans, features several of his folk compositions alongside familiar melodies. BRAD MACDONALD has been playing darbuka since 1999 and music professionally since 2007. He is featured on two CDs, The Middle East Side and The Silent D with his NY-based band, Djinn and he performs regularly with the Turkish fusion band, Carmine & Friends. He has performed throughout the United States, Mexico, Europe, Morocco, China and Japan and he has taught throughout the United States, New Zealand and China.

MOROCCO is considered a leader in the field of Middle Eastern dance, is an internationally renown dancer, instructor and author. Since 1964, Morocco has written for several publications in her field and been reprinted in dance, medical and feminist publications internationally. A true pioneer in the field, she taught a 3-credit course in Middle Eastern Dance & Culture at the State Univerity of New York (Purchase, NY) in the mid 1970s. Her recently published 424-page reference book, “You Asked Aunt Rocky: Answers & Advice About RaqsSharqi & Raqs Shaabi” has received numerous 5-star reviews and is fast becoming the go-to book in the field.
