Absolute Beginner 4-5 Week Courses
No dance experience necessary. This course covers the basic posture and foundation movements by building on steps learned from week to week. This course is easy to follow, easy to retain, and fun! It will also provide you with a low impact workout that improves flexibility and coordination. No previous knowledge of bellydance is required although experienced dancers who want to polish and refine their technique are also welcome. Three separate and distinct beginner courses are offered named Isis, Bastet, and Hathor. Each course runs for 4-5 weeks and together cover all the basic foundation movements of belly dance. We recommend that students take three full courses of beginner technique for a complete introduction.
Beginner – Technique and Combinations
Beginner foundation bellydance technique will be drilled and linked together into simple combinations. Variations will be offered for more experienced dancers.
Drill layered isolations and traveling steps building up to more complex combinations in a variety of styles including oriental, tribal, folkloric and fusion. Also learn how to dance with popular props such as veil, finger cymbals, fans, tray, skirt, wings and sword.
