WHAT: Led by Kaeshi Chai, this 6 week choreography intensive explores ways that dance can be generated, shaped, and honed by individual stories to convey meaning and to embody our dreams. Kaeshi shares her movement toolbox for generating choreography and structured improvisation using belly dance, Lecoq physical theatre, Laban techniques, game play and Jake Knapp’s Sprint Design process. Participants will craft choreography independently as well as collaboratively on each other. By establishing a place for experimentation and dialogue, participants will spend 6 weeks working in a positive and open environment that fosters creativity and artistic connection. This will culminate in a show to the public at the Under St Marks Theater. Appropriate for dancers of all levels.
