Bellyqueen™ Dance Theater is a professional world dance company based in New York City, co-founded by both Amar Gamal and Kaeshi Chai, who also serves as artistic director. The Bellyqueen dance repertoire encompasses a range of Middle Eastern dance, from the traditional "Raks Sharqi" (bellydance) format to folkloric styles, blended with other dance forms including ballet, modern, jazz, gypsy, flamenco, chinese, afro-haitian and popping (hip hop). Bellyqueen's diverse choreographies are developed through the group's unique collaborative process, drawing upon each member's extensive background in performance art. Based on the strength of their unique vision, body of choreographies and performance history, Bellyqueen was the first established bellydance company asked to perform in Las Vegas at Aladdin's Desert Passage for an extended contract.

In 2003, they were asked to join the first full-time professional touring bellydance company in the world, the "Bellydance Superstars and Desert Roses". Since then, they have performed at Lollapalooza, the World Peace Awards in Bali, toured extensively through the US, Europe, Canada, Asia and made numerous television appearances.

In February 2004 they released their first instructional DVD, "Bellydance Jam", into the mainstream market. In 2007, they released their first full length performance DVD, "The Bellydance Experience."

Through its commitment to high-quality production and artistic integrity, Bellyqueen explores and expands the rich world of Middle Eastern dance as a theatrical performance art that can be universally appreciated by audiences of all backgrounds, genders and ages

The Bellyqueen troupe believes in the equality of all races. They sincerely hope that one day, all cultures can live free from discrimination, and in peace with one another, regardless of what color their skin is. Another Bellyqueen goal is to help educate people about the benefits of bellydance and it's healing powers, particularly for body image, self esteem and expression.
